Furniture Sales & Operations Associate

Full-Time | Los Angeles

BUKO Furniture is a growing vintage furniture showroom specializing in Danish and Scandinavian mid-century modern furniture. We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on Furniture Sales & Operations Associate to join our team full-time.

This is a hybrid role combining showroom sales, customer service, furniture operations, deliveries, and opportunities to assist and learn from our restoration team.

Schedule

Thursday–Monday | Approximately 40 hours/week
Days off: Tuesday & Wednesday

  • Assist customers and close sales

  • Learn our inventory and answer product questions

  • Process payments and coordinate pickups/deliveries

  • Answer customer calls and messages

  • Keep the showroom organized and presentation-ready

  • Local deliveries and customer pickups

  • Prepare and move furniture

  • Receive and organize new inventory

  • Help with showroom setup, displays, mirrors, artwork and lighting

  • Assist with incoming furniture containers

  • Work alongside our restoration team

  • Help with other day-to-day operational projects

Who We’re Looking For

We care more about reliability, initiative, attitude, and willingness to learn than experience in every part of the role.

You should be comfortable working with customers, doing physical hands-on work, working independently, and taking initiative when things are quiet. An interest in vintage furniture, design, woodworking, or restoration is a big plus.

Previous experience in furniture, retail, sales, restoration, woodworking, or delivery is helpful.

About BUKO

We import carefully selected vintage Danish furniture directly from Denmark and restore pieces in-house before offering them through our Los Angeles showroom and online.

Furniture Upholsterer – Full-Time

Los Angeles, CA | Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced Furniture Upholsterer to join our restoration team full-time.

We have a steady and growing volume of upholstery work, including dining chairs, lounge chairs, armchairs, sofas, and other vintage pieces. We are looking for someone who can independently complete upholstery projects from start to finish while maintaining the original design and character of each piece.

Responsibilities

  • Complete reupholstery of vintage sofas, lounge chairs, dining chairs, and other furniture

  • Remove existing upholstery and prepare pieces for new materials

  • Measure, cut, and sew upholstery fabric

  • Make and recover seat and back cushions

  • Sew piping/welting and other finishing details

  • Replace or repair foam, batting, webbing, and other upholstery materials as needed

  • Evaluate existing upholstery components and determine what can be reused or needs replacement

  • Maintain the original proportions and design details of vintage furniture

  • Produce clean, professional-quality finished work

  • Complete projects within agreed timelines

  • Keep the upholstery workspace and tools organized

What We’re Looking For

Previous professional upholstery experience is required. You should be comfortable working independently on complete furniture projects rather than only assisting another upholsterer.

Experience with sofas and lounge chairs is particularly important.

You should be confident using industrial sewing machines and standard upholstery tools and have experience with fabric cutting, cushion construction, foam, batting, webbing, piping, and other common upholstery techniques.

Experience working with vintage or mid-century modern furniture is a strong plus.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.

Schedule

Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week.

Regular schedule: Thursday–Monday.
Tuesday and Wednesday are regular days off.

Weekend availability is required.

This is a regular, ongoing position. We currently have a substantial backlog of upholstery projects, with additional containers of Danish furniture arriving regularly.

  • A brief description of your upholstery experience

  • Photos of your previous work, particularly sofas, lounge chairs, and vintage furniture
